Live KDS workflow
Kitchen Display System — process incoming KOTs in real time.
Kitchen staff use the Kitchen Display System (KDS) to process incoming orders in real time.
Accessing KDS
- Sign in to the POS app
- Select Restaurant POS mode
- Choose Kitchen Staff as your role
- Select branch and location
- The KDS dashboard loads with incoming KOTs
KOT statuses
KOTs are organized by preparation status:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| New / Pending | Just received from waiter |
| Cooking | Kitchen is preparing |
| Ready to serve | Ready for waiter pickup |
Updating KOT status
- Tap a KOT card to open details
- Tap Start Cooking when preparation begins
- Tap Mark as Ready when the dish is ready for service
The waiter app updates automatically — the waiter sees the KOT as Ready and can Mark as Served.
Urgency indicators
Orders pending for more than 20 minutes show a visual urgency indicator on the KDS screen to help kitchen staff prioritize.
